It all started at 6 AM on a bright June day. Well, no it actually started a few months earlier. I was on a train somewhere in the Lake District that continued afterwards to Edinburgh. I reached my stop and got off, feeling deep down that I’d made a mistake.
Then, it happened a couple more times but I was always too busy. Including once, coming down from Ben Nevis (highest mountain in the UK) and thinking: Edinburgh should be next on my list. And then came that early morning. In Slough (near London). I woke up with a nagging little voice in my head that said, “What’s your excuse today?” At 4 PM I came out of Waverley station, and mid-summer, in Scotland, it snowed on me.
I kept coming up until I realized that transportation cost too much and really, I should just move. That was 7 years ago and Scotland, including Edinburgh and the highlands is my greatest inspiration, and where Evans Witches is based.
So here is me going around Edinburgh to visit the places from the books. I can’t believe they let me into the Vaults (!), and film in the chocolate museum, and I broke my camera gear at the national gallery, and got sunburned. But I made it and here it is:
